About Niebrugge Images
Ron Niebrugge and his wife Janine are Alaska residents and make their home in Seward. Together they have performed a wide variety of assignment photography, and are always open to discussing new possibilities. Past assignments have taken Ron to remote areas of Kenai Fjords National Park on behalf of the Park Service, up a 3,000 foot mountain covering a mountain race for Runner’s World, into Prince William Sound during the winter for Continental Airlines Magazine and into remote areas of the Inside Passage for Four Seasons Tours.

Ron is equally comfortable photographing resort property in a major tourist destination or working with a corporate client as he is working with biologist in remote parts of the world; and he has experience doing both. A business background and MBA with a marketing emphasis help him understand the needs of advertising agencies and their clients.

The primary purpose of this blog is to provide a resource of combined information to help make well informed decisions when planning a trip to Alaska so that it may be a safe and enjoyable one. Questions? Please contact me by email so that I may assist you.

After having lived in Alaska, and working in the seafood industry as a plant maintenance engineer, for almost 20 years, I relocated to Gresham, Oregon in 1999. I spent the next few years driving the big truck from coast to coast until I retired last year. Now I just play with computers all day long and daydream of Alaska and the places I've been and the things I've done. So I decided to write about them to share with whoever will listen.

Ah, Seward, what a beautiful place and starting point for this blog. Being a former resident I can tell you that Seward is a quaint seaport community and should be on everyone's itinerary to visit. Seward is also home to the magnificent Alaska SeaLife Center.

"You can lose track of time when caught up in the beauty of it all."

At the end of a funfilled day of tours, shopping, or .., you realize you are totally famished and ready for a nice dinner. That is when you should head for Thorn's Showcase Lounge and what I consider the finest food in town.
"What to order? The best prime rib and clam chowder of course."

After a great dinner, and maybe some cocktails, you realize that you are exhausted and need to turn in for the night. The Hotel Seward is only a couple of blocks away. But.., a word of caution.
You should make reservations far in advance because all rooms are elegant and are in high demand.
